Cumin ( Cuminum cyminum) is a plant with yellowish brown seed from parsley family. Its fruit is often called '' seeds ''It has distinctive warm aromatic taste.
Cultivated in the regions of Central Anatolia, Southeast Turkey.Harvesting begins in July and August.
It is sifted and traded with various qualities of 0,5 % - 1 % impurities.
We can make it ground powder.
Essential oil ( cumin aldehyd ) is min. 1,5 % and 2,5 %.
Cumin seeds are used as a spice for their distinctive flavour and aroma.
It is globally popular and essential flavoring in the cuisines in most of the countries of Asia, North Africa Europe and America. It is used in much of the dishes of meat, vegetables and fish to give earthy and warming feeling to food according to the people's culinary culture.
It is a good appietizer. Its volatile oil is used in flavouring cosmetics and liqueur.
